I notice that you are not finishing reseating the tyre at the valve. That means the tyre cannot drop into the well of the rim, thus making fitting much more difficult. ALWAYS start to remove the tyre at the valve, and ALWAYS finish fit it back on at the valve. If you look carefully at the visual instruction shown on Michelin's inner tube boxes, they show the valve being at the point where the tyre is finally popped back onto the rim. I do accept that, even then, some tyre/rim combinations can be very difficult to get the tyre back on, but most tyres can be fitted without anything special.

Weird how the crank arm has that wear right at the last digit of the serial number. I can't think of anything that would rub against the inside of the crank arm at that spot while riding.

Much appreciated. I had one and didn't know how to use it.

Now today they are riding slanted down mountain - bikes that are masquerading, and are being passed off as racing bikes , but as usual everybody refuses to see or notice the elephant in the room including YOURSELF. How's anything going to change or improve if nobody addresses the problem in relation to the modern day abomination that's called a racing bike. !

My '84 doesn't have chrome lugs. Was the paint stripped, or lugs chromed? Fine ride. I love the jersey too.
